ONDO develops family entertainment center (FEC) concepts that connect architecture, play and a clear spatial identity. Working as the creative architecture department of SARAAJ, we consider how different generations can explore, participate and spend time together within one entertainment environment. The studio is led by founder Mohsen Saraji.
Designing a connected family experience
An FEC brings together activities with different rhythms: energetic play, digital experiences, waiting, resting and social interaction. The architectural concept needs to give these activities a coherent setting while helping visitors understand where to go and what to explore next.
We study the relationship between activity zones, shared spaces and the overall visitor journey. A strong visual and narrative identity can connect individual attractions, giving the center a character of its own. Materials, light, color and form help establish that character throughout the environment.
Areas of design focus
- An architectural concept and recognizable identity for the center.
- The relationship between play zones, circulation and shared spaces.
- Themed interiors and opportunities for multisensory experiences.
- Connections between physical play, digital environments and storytelling.
- Integration of gathering, rest and food and beverage areas where included in the brief.
Selected family entertainment projects
Kish Family Entertainment Center develops a diamond-inspired identity through faceted forms and light. Metaverse Family Entertainment Center explores the relationship between physical space, digital environments and participation. Farabazi Indoor Theme Park offers another example of a narrative-led indoor entertainment design.
Starting an FEC project
We welcome project enquiries from clients in Iran and internationally. Share the location, available drawings or approximate area, intended age groups and the activities you are considering. Information about the existing building, access points and neighboring uses helps establish the spatial brief. These inputs provide a basis for discussing the concept and the design scope.
Can an FEC have its own story world?
Yes. A narrative can connect the center’s identity, themed spaces and individual experiences. Explore our themed entertainment design approach for more on spatial storytelling, or theme park design for larger coordinated destinations.
